What will your future hold?

I’m taking on the book 642 Things to Write About by the San Fransisco Writers’ GROTTO.  Each page is filled with 1 or more writing prompts for the day and sometimes the pages are even cut into 4’s.  This usually makes me then add illustrations to the prompts even though, I am by no means a great illustrator.

What’s great about impromptu writing is it allows your brain to travel down tremendous avenues you never even realized were there.

Take for instance, one of the suggested writings asked you to describe your perfect day as an astronaut.  Before I knew what was happening, I was creating characters, solar systems, and really, a whole universe that I didn’t even know existed inside my mind.

If you’ve never tried one of these or haven’t in a while, I highly suggest doing so.  Try just one and see what happens.  It’s a great way to get rid of the morning brain fog and get your engine going.  Even if you already write everyday, this kind of writing is different from traditional blogging, journalism, etc.  It allows you to explore areas otherwise untapped from your normal day to day writing.

Here’s another quick example:  Write a Facebook Status for the year 2050.  Although, I did change the year they originally had (2017) because it’s already upon us.

So, what were my status updates?  Here’s a few of them.  I hope you get a kick out of them!

1.) Selfie from the moon!  BEST VACAY EVER!!
2.) Our self-driving car backed over the neighbor, good thing we opted for the Med Evac upgrade with our purchase.
3.) Just bought my first all in one treadmill shower.  Half asleep and just stepped on the belt and it took care of the rest.  Smelling so fresh and so clean, clean!

My challenge to you?  Make up three FB status of your own for the year 2050.  What are they?  What will you be doing?

Comment and share them with us if you like.

Have a fantastic day everyone!
